Leicester City Premier League fixtures: Schedule, dates, times, and predictions for the upcoming season of the EPL in 2022/23

Leicester City’s 2021/22 Premier League campaign was somewhat underwhelming after finishing fifth in consecutive seasons.

It was a four-game unbeaten run at the end of the season, which included three wins, that gave the Foxes eighth place – but their points tally of 52 was their lowest since 2018/19, the season in which Brendan Rodgers took charge with only three months to go.

Leicester City under Rodgers was also able to reach the semifinals of the UEFA Europa Conference League, where they were beaten by Roma who has crowned champions for the first time.

So far, Leicester’s schedule is unaffected by European football this season.

FA Cup, and Carabao Cup participation for Leicester City

The FA Cup fourth-round hammering Leicester Forest suffered at the hands of Midlands neighbors Nottingham Forest in Leicester’s 2021/22 season was a low point of the club’s campaign and it is an opportunity they will not want to miss when they return to the competition in January.

The loss on penalties in the quarterfinals of the Carabao Cup to eventual champions Liverpool is more forgivable than the defeat on penalties. Leicester will be taking part in that competition again in November.

Leicester City Premier League projection & odds

If Leicester were able to make up for the 14-point gap between their total from the previous season, it would go a long way towards helping them regain a place in the top six next season.

Seventh-placed West Ham finished four points ahead of the Foxes in 2021/22, and it is likely that all of the teams in the top six, as well as the newly wealthy Newcastle down below, will be in a position to improve significantly over the summer. A successful qualification for the European Championship would be an encouraging sign that progress is being made and not stagnation is taking place.

Here is a list of Leicester City best and worst finishes in the Premier League

There is no doubt that anybody who is familiar with football folklore will enjoy revisiting Leicester’s Premier League title win of 2015/16, which is, without doubt, the greatest upset in the history of the modern top flight and will be remembered forever.

As a result of spending 10 of their previous 12 seasons outside the Premier League, Leicester finished bottom – their worst-ever finish – in 2001/02 and third-bottom in 2003/04.

Leicester City took until 2013/14 in order to regain their place in the Premier League, and they have been in that position ever since.
