ICC T20 World Cup 2022 Schedule

The UAE and Malaysia have qualified for the 2022 ACC Women’s T20 Championship, which will take place in Malaysia in June 2022, after reaching the finals of the 2022 ACC Women’s T20 Championship in June 2022.

During the round-robin format, each team is scheduled to play the other six teams in a round-robin format. There will be four teams in the top four places who will advance to the semi-finals in which the team at the top of the table will play against the side at the bottom of the table while the team at the second place will play against the team at the bottom of the table.

During the opening match of the tournament on Saturday, October 1, Bangladesh will be hosting Thailand while later in the day India will face Sri Lanka in the final match of the tournament. It is expected that the Harmanpreet Kaur-led Women in Blue will face India’s arch-rivals Pakistan on Friday, October 7 in one of the biggest matches of the tournament.

This year’s Women’s Asia Cup is being played in a T20 format for the first time since 2012. The previous editions of the tournament were played as ODIs in 2004, 2005-06, 2006 and 2008.
In the history of the Women’s Asia Cup, India has been the most successful team, clinching the title a record six times in 2004, 2005-06, 2006, 2008, 2012 and 2016. Bangladesh, on the other hand, won its maiden title in 2018 by beating India by three wickets in the final of the last edition. Bangladesh became only the second team to ever win the coveted Women’s Asia Cup by virtue of their incredible victory, putting an end to India’s winning streak and becoming the first team to win it twice.

This year’s Women’s T20 Asia Cup is scheduled to be held in Sylhet, Bangladesh – at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium and the Sylhet Outer Cricket Stadium. All matches will be played in Sylhet.

A COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of the 2020 edition of the tournament as a result of the epidemic.
