There will be a FIFA World Cup 2022 to be held in Qatar from November 21, 2022, to December 18, 2022. Since 2010, Qatar has had the privilege of hosting the event. It will be the first time an Arabic country will host the FIFA World Cup. The previous FIFA World Cups were generally held during the summer months of June and July, however, due to the intense heat of Qatar during the summer months, the matches will be played during November and December. During the 28 days of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, there will be a total of 64 matches that will be played in 8 different stadiums in 5 different cities.

Out of the total 32 teams that will be chosen for the tournament, 31 teams will be required to undergo a qualification process, while Qatar will be selected as the host nation for the tournament. For the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar, the competition format will be such that these eight teams will be divided into 8 groups of four teams each. There will be two stages of match play. The first stage will be the group stage which will be in a round-robin format. The second stage will be the knockout stage which will be in a single-elimination format in which the team winning any match will be thrown out of contention for the trophy.

The group stage of the tournament is scheduled to begin on November 21, 2022, and end on December 2, 2022. The teams’ performance over the course of the group stage will be evaluated on the basis of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Points Table. On the first day of the tournament, the first match will be played at the Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, whereas the all-important final match will be played at the Lusail Iconic Stadium in Lusail.

The Lusail Iconic Stadium or Lusail Stadium will be hosting the now all-important final match of the FIFA World Cup in 2022. The match will take place on December 18, 2022. The stadium will host the biggest event of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

How you can reach the stadium

The stadium is located about 15 kilometers north of the center of Doha. There is a metro station as close as Lusail Station on Doha Metro’s Red Line that you can take to get to the stadium. However, in order to get to the stadium, you will have to take some means of transportation from the Metro station. Additionally, during the tournament, there will also be other means of transportation that will be available for the fans in order to get to the stadium more easily.

Lusail Stadium will host a total of ten matches, the group stage matches will be played there, the round of 16 matches will be played there, the quarter-finals will be held there, the semifinals will be held there, and the all-important final will take place there. Al Bayt Stadium – FIFA World Cup 2022

As part of the FIFA World Cup 2022, the opening match will be played at the Al Bayt Stadium. In addition to being the second-largest stadium in the world, the stadium is built in the shape of a traditional tent that was used by the nomadic people of Qatar. The stadium has a retractable roof and sustainability certifications have been obtained by the stadium.

The stadium will host the Asian Games in 2030 after the World Cup is over.

Al Janoub Stadium will be one of the eight venues for the 2022 FIFA World Cup to be held in Qatar. There is a retractable roof on the stadium. A traditional Dhow boat sail is used as inspiration for the roof of the stadium.

The stadium is the home ground of Al-Wakrah SC and the national football team of Qatar.

Stadium 974 – FIFA World Cup 2022

The name Stadium 974 is derived from the international dialing code for Qatar (+974). 974 recycled shipping containers were used in the construction of the stadium and the stadium will be deconstructed after it hosts the 2022 FIFA World Cup matches. Sustainable construction policies were taken into consideration during the construction of the stadium.

Ras Abu Aboud Stadium was initially announced under that name, but it was later officially renamed Stadium 974. The stadium hosted its first match on 30.11.2021 during the FIFA Arab Cup between the UAE and Syria.

The stadium is approximately 2 kilometers away from the city of Doha and can be reached by the Metro in Doha, the nearest metro station is Ras Bu Aboud (Gold Line) located approximately 800 meters from the stadium.

Using bus route no.109, one can get to the stadium by alighting at the Qatar Petroleum bus stop and alighting at the stadium.

How to Reach the Stadium

The stadium can be found at a distance of 14 km on the outskirts of Doha in an area called Education City, which has a number of universities located within a close distance of each other. The nearest metro station is about 10 minutes away from the station, so if you are planning to go to the stadium by metro then you will need to deboard at the Education City Station on the Green Line of the Doha Metro.
